Brazadas Swim School provides high-quality instruction for kids of all ages and skill levels. Our teachers use a progressive approach to teach water safety, build confidence, and develop proper swimming technique in a safe and supportive environment.
Designed for flexibility, Brazadas Swim School offers two schedules; both options provide an equal amount of time in the pool and cover the same material. Choose the option that best suits your schedule!
- Eight-week course Saturdays June 7 - July 26
- Two-week intensive Monday - Thursday
- Session 1: June 9 - June 19
- Session 2: June 23 - July 3
- Session 3: July 7 - July 17
- Session 4: July 21 - July 31

Parent and Me Classes
6 MONTHS - 2 YEARS
Swim classes for ages 6 months to 2 years require participation from a caregiver. These classes are instructor led with the parent or caregiver being hands-on throughout the lesson. The focus is on getting young swimmers comfortable and happy in the water.
Water Babies
REGISTER NOWWater Babies focuses on building comfort and trust in the water for young swimmers 6 to 12 months, with an emphasis on water safety, water play, and developing early motor skills. This class is designed for babies and their parents to bond while exploring water through fun activities, gentle submersions, and basic movements. Parents will learn essential skills for safely supporting their child in the water.
KEY SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES
Water Safety Basics: Introduce safe water entry and exit for both babies and parents.
Teach parents how to properly support their child in the water to ensure safety.
Face Submersion: Gentle face submersion with the help of a parent, with no pressure for the child to fully submerge at this stage.
Floating & Support: Introduction to floating with gentle support from parents or the instructor. This may include front and back floating to promote confidence.
Kicking & Splashing: Engage babies in playful kicking and splashing activities to develop coordination and build comfort in the water.
Blowing Bubbles: Playfully introduce blowing bubbles and water on the face to familiarize babies with water and breath control.

Water Tots
REGISTER NOWWater Tots focuses on building comfort and trust in the water for little ones 12 months to 2 years old, with an emphasis on water safety, water play, and developing early motor skills. This class is designed for babies toddlers and their parents to bond while exploring water through fun activities, gentle submersions, and basic movements. Parents will learn essential skills for safely supporting their child in the water.

Preschool Clases
3 YEARS - 5 YEARS
For swimmers ages 3 to 5 years old. Instructors focus on getting swimmers comfortable and confident in the water without a parent. Water safety is the primary focus and the basic freestyle and backstroke will be introduced.
Discovery 1
REGISTER NOWIn Discovery 1, preschool age swimmers begin to develop basic water skills and confidence. The focus is on water safety, building independence, and practicing basic movements like floating, kicking, and arm strokes. This class introduces swimmers to new skills that lay the foundation for swimming proficiency while offering plenty of play and enjoyment in the water.
KEY SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES
Face Submersion: Introduce and practice blowing bubbles in the water (nose and mouth bubbles). Start building comfort with fully submerging the face.
Back & Front Floating: Introduction to assisted front and back floats.
Flutter Kicking: Begin practicing straight leg and pointed toe flutter kicks on the wall.
Freestyle Arm Movements (Assisted): Start developing basic freestyle strokes with assistance on the wall.

Discovery 2
REGISTER NOWIn Discovery 2, preschool age swimmers progress toward swimming independently, including floating and short distances of kick to an instructor. Swimmers will also work with instructors to venture off the wall and learn beginner techniques for freestyle and backstroke.
KEY SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES
Back & Front Floats: Swimmers will aim for unassisted front and back floating.
Beginner Freestyle & Backstroke: Swimmers practice flutter kicks and arm strokes for freestyle and backstroke off the wall with the help of an instructor.

Learn to Swim Classes
5 YEARS - 18 YEARS
Learn to Swim classes are for athletes ages 5 to 18 years old.* Classes at the Exploration level focus on teaching water safety, swimming fundamentals, and assisted swims off the wall. Classes at the Foundations level focus on independent swimming and all four competitive swim strokes — backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle.
*Note: Each child will be grouped with other swimmers of the same age and developmental level. This ensures that the classes are both age- and skill-appropriate. By grouping swimmers based on their age, we provide a fun and supportive environment where athletes can progress at their own pace, building confidence and swimming skills alongside their peers.
Exploration 1
REGISTER NOWIn Exploration 1, swimmers refine basic swimming skills (such as flutter kicking and floating independently), while starting to work on more advanced techniques including swimming freestyle independently, assisted side breathing, and basic backstroke techniques.
KEY SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES
Freestyle Stroke: Focus on proper arm strokes, coordination of arms with flutter kicks, and side breathing.
Freestyle Kick: Develop flutter kicking with correct form, keeping legs straight and toes pointed.
Backstroke: Start to refine the backstroke technique, with swimmers working on arm movements, body rotation, and straight legs.

Exploration 2
REGISTER NOWIn Exploration 2, athletes will be working toward swimming longer distances of unassisted freestyle, and will take their first unassisted backstroke. The freestyle side breath is a major focus for swimmers at this level.
KEY SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES
Freestyle: Swimmers will work towards longer distances of unassisted swimming and the basics of side breathing.
Backstroke: Swimmers will take their first independent strokes off the wall to an instructor.

Foundations 1
REGISTER NOWFoundations 1 focuses on refining stroke and increasing swimming distance with proper technique for freestyle and backstroke. Butterfly and breaststroke kick will be introduced.
KEY SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES
Freestyle: Unassisted side breathing.
Swimming longer distances without assistance.
Backstroke: Swimming longer distances without assistance.
Breaststroke & Butterfly: Introduction to dolphin kick and breaststroke kick.

Foundations 2
REGISTER NOWIn Swimming Foundations 2, athletes will begin to swim freestyle and backstroke completely unassisted. Swimmers will also begin to work on breaststroke and butterfly arm technique. Competitive swimming concepts will be introduced, and swimmers will prepare for more advanced skills such as dives and underwater dolphin kicks.
KEY SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES
Freestyle & Backstroke: Proficiency in freestyle and backstroke. Swimming longer distances unassisted with proper technique.
Breaststroke & Butterfly: Introduction to breaststroke and butterfly arms.
Short unassisted swims with both the pull and kick.
Diving Skills: Introduction to diving off the side of the pool from a seated/kneeling position.

Swim Team Preparation Classes
5 YEARS - 18 YEARS
At the Swim Team Preparation level, focus is on getting swimmers ready for competitive swimming. Swimmers learn starts, turns, and further refining stroke technique.
Swim Team Preparation
REGISTER NOWSwim Team Preparation is designed to get swimmers ready for competitive swim team environments. This class focuses on mastering all four competitive strokes— backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle, refining technique, and learning the fundamentals of flip turns, open turns, and dive starts.
KEY SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES
Competitive Strokes: Refine all strokes—backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle with an emphasis on consistent technique at longer distances.
Flip Turns & Open Turns: Master flip turns for backstroke and freestyle, as well as open turns for breaststroke and butterfly.
Diving & Race Starts: Refine diving techniques, including standing dives from the side of the pool and from the block.
